Scene Operations
On the fire scene every man on each apparatus has an assigned duty to perform. This lets the L.S.Co.F.D. get the job done safely and efficiently.
Structure fires
When companies are toned out for a structure fire the Ladder Company should always be first on scene. The Ladder Companies job on scene is to Search the building for any people that are in danger and rescue them. The ladder should be positioned in the front of the building or to the side that has the most access points for rescues to be made. The Ladder crew will then be sent up to the roof to cut vents for the smoke to escape from. The Ladder most always have the most access to the building. The Engine company will then position themselves on the side where the fire is to allow easiest access to put the fire out.
